SELECTS Program
We are looking for young players to participate in our TIGERS Selects program. We will form ‘Selects’ teams from 12u to 16/17u to learn the skills of volleyball and participate against similar teams from other nearby clubs in a fun and friendly environment. This would be an inexpensive non-OVA form of play in a mini-tournament and exhibition format. This gives players an opportunity to be introduced to volleyball and play against similar age and skill-level opponents with emphasis on development and self confidence.
Costs are kept as low as possible to encourage participation. Teams practice 1-2 times per week and Tigers uniforms will be included. The SELECTS program is an option for athletes competing in other sports to be introduced to team volleyball and try it out without having to make the greater financial and time commitments of rep OVA volleyball.
Players from our regular VDP may be asked to participate in the TIGERS Selects program. The selects players are training to compete, which is mid-way between VDP and REP.
