Weather Didn’t Take This 13U Tigers Team Down! It’s a Silver!

Weather threw a wrench into the start of this 14U Girls McGregor Cup Tournament in Stratford, but with a shift in the schedule this 13U Tigers Black team started their day.

They won their pool play in the morning winning 4 out of their 6 sets.

After lunch, they were back on the court and played some great games with close scores along the way.   This included one round against our own clubs 14U team!  Red and White shirts all over the court!  Go Waterloo!!

They played semi finals against Scorpions Gold 14U and came away with the win (25-20, 25-22) and headed into the Gold/Silver match against our hosts, Stratford Stingers 14U!  Our team won the first match 25-19.  The second match began, but had to restart due to a misunderstanding.  Thrown off their game with the restart, and with a tough server on the Stratford team, we tied up with a loss at 23-25.   Into the final set of the match, the team played their best and came away with the Silver medal!  What a great end to a very long day!

Congratulations  Tigers 13U Black!

Tigers 14U Red Girls take Bronze

Our Waterloo Tigers 14U Red team had a wonderful weekend in December at their Challenge Cup tournament.

The girls didn’t have great round robin matches as they fell to Chatham Ballhawks White and Sarnia Twin Bridges Thunder without winning a set. However, after lunch when the playoffs began, they faced LVC Fire Black and stunned London with a two set victory [25-14, 25-15]!

With this excitement and new found adrenaline, our Tigers faced the number one ranked team in the tournament – the Stratford Stingers. Unfazed, they roared through adversity again and defeated the Stingers in three sets [14-25, 25-18, 15-11]!

The Tigers were unable to keep the momentum against Georgetown Impact Red losing in two sets [17-25, 12-25] forcing our Tigers to compete for a Bronze medal.

With a medal was on the line, our Tigers played well against the London Sharks Hammerhead winning a close three set match [26-24, 10-25, 15-12].

Congratulations Tigers!
